OK MOZART’S OPENING CELEBRATION AT PRAIRIE SONG

OK MOZART’S OPENING CELEBRATION AT PRAIRIE SONG:

TRAIL 5K, FUN RUN, FREE CONCERTS & MORE!

BARTLESVILLE, OK – One of the public’s favorite events for families at the OK Mozart Festival is the Opening Celebration at Prairie Song in Dewey, where a family can enjoy the entire day from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.  2016 marks the second year in a row that OK Mozart has opened the festival with a celebration at Prairie Song, a historically recreated 1800s Old West town in Dewey.

The day begins with an early morning 5K Trail Run along the beautiful terrain of the ranch, timed by Tatur Racing, or a one mile Fun Run.  After the races, prepare for a full day of family fun at Prairie Song including live music, pony rides, Native American tribal dancing, a kid’s petting zoo, do-it-yourself branding with real branding irons, wagon and carriage rides, tasty food and much more!  Other activities include trick roping, falconry, and sheep dog demonstration as well as a magic show in the barn.  Musical offerings at various locations on the property throughout the day include barbershop, gospel music, Corky Davis & Cowboy Swing, and Ad Lib Singers.

If you work up a hunger, Price’s Meat Market will be providing food available for purchase such as breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, hot dogs, chili cheese dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, Frito chili pie, nachos, chips, candy, and beverages including soda, water and more!  Other food vendors will include ice cream and “southern” snow. Naughty Nelle’s Saloon will be serving up sarsaparilla and lots of ambience!

Most activities at Prairie Song are offered free of charge, though some items do have a low cost, such as the sarsaparilla offered at Naughty Nelle’s Saloon.  Race registration is $30 and available at okmozart.com or eventbrite.com.  The opening celebration is sponsored by Patriot Motors and KWON.
