The Price Tower Arts Center announces the opening of TALISMAN: Celebrating Jody Kirberger exhibit.

The Price Tower Arts Center announces the opening of TALISMAN: Celebrating Jody Kirberger exhibit.  The exhibit officially opens to the public at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 15th, will offer free admission.  Jody Kirberger (1929 – 2014) is a Bartlesville legend in her own right as she was instrumental in bringing many of the fine art pieces that find homes in collectors throughout the community.  She brought her passion for fun and love of the arts to all she encountered in Bartlesville, and cared deeply about making the community better, as evidenced by her volunteerism and commitment to various service organizations.
TALISMAN: Celebrating Jody Kirberger is an exhibit made possible by the stories and artwork held by private collectors from around the community and Oklahoma.  During her 45+ years of running the Talisman gallery, Jody exhibited hundreds of artists and developed lifelong friendships along the way.  She was deeply passionate about emerging artists and when she discovered a new talent, she worked hard to encourage their career and help them to make a name for themselves.  One such artist was Richard Schmid, who she accredited much of her success—that and a bit of “luck.”  This exhibition features personal stories and over 40 wellknown artists and over 90 pieces, which were borrowed from the homes of area collectors, who were much more than clients; rather they were friends of Jody.
A private Member’s only preview and reception will be held on Wednesday, September 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  To inquire about membership status, renewal or obtaining a new membership, please contact Hailey Hill, Event & Development Specialist at the Price Tower, at 918-336-4949 ext 117 or go to pricetower.org/membership to renew online.
